Please pass the tissue...no, wait: if the bond issue passes, I'll just have to wipe my tears on my tattered sleeve, as the extra tax dollars will exhaust my savings and my grandchildren will starve. Fat cats will get fatter, and us po' folks will make the tough decision between food or medicine.
Please stop the histrionics. While it is tough for those of us on fixed incomes to find the extra cash, we would be paying a much higher tax bill if we didn't support a good school system and the positive growth that it supports.
And yes: Government services do require the support of the private sector, whether it's building roads, equipping law enforcement officers, or building schools.
That's a good thing. I'm not an economist, but it's a safe bet that a big portion of bond money comes right back to Wake County.
